by gseth on 25th January, 2011 in Operator News

Airtel launched it 3G services in Bengaluru a couple of days back. Airtel has plans to release 3G services in the 13 circles that it won the spectrum for in the coming days.

The plans are scaled for heavy users as well as nominal users. However there is still no unlimited data plan. For the full list of available 3G plans check out the tariff chart. To get more info just sms 3G to 121.

It is expected that Chennai would be the second city to get 3G services from Airtel. Airtel's 3G service is based on a HSPA network and the expected bandwidth is upto 21 mbps.

3G services from AIrtel is very anticipated as it is India's leading telecom operator. Once the services launch in my city, I will do a speed test and post the results online, as to see how fast it is in comparison with the earlier launches like Dolphin and Tata Docomo.
