Acer has finally made it official at the MWC 2011. The Acer Iconia Smart is a 4.8-inch super widescreen display phone which is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread. This phone is something similar to 5-inch Dell Streak launched last year.

The phone has a 21:9 cinema-style aspect ratio with a resolution of 480x1024. It is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 512MB of RAM and 8GB of Internal Memory.
It also has an 8-megapixel camera on the back and a 2-megapixel one on the front from video calling. Other features include an HDMI port, DLNA, WiFi Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR and supports HSDPA+ networks.
The phone actually lies in a category which is in between phones and tablets. For those who are looking for something bigger than you standard 4-inch phone and something smaller than a 7-inch tablet, Acer Iconia Smart is a good choice.
The expected released date in the UK is May 1, 2011. Pricing has yet to be announced.
