Engadget had sent an email to Steve Jobs asking for some clarification on the recent iPhone 4 reception issues people were complaining about. It seems they have got a response. Apple has confirmed that there are issues with the reception, but at the same time is claiming that the problem is with the consumers holding the phone the wrong way. Below is a screen shot of the email received by Engadget:

Further more, they have also received an official quote from Apple which states the following:
"Gripping any mobile phone will result in some attenuation of its antenna performance, with certain places being worse than others depending on the placement of the antennas. This is a fact of life for every wireless phone. If you ever experience this on your iPhone 4, avoid gripping it in the lower left corner in a way that covers both sides of the black strip in the metal band, or simply use one of many available cases."
With the above responses, seems Apple is asking consumers to adapt to their iPhone, which sounds crazy. The phone is normally suppose to adapt to the consumers and not the other way around. The bottom line is either you change how you hold the phone or buy an Apple bumper case (Cost around $29).
