View Full Version : Feat. - Be featured!
Hi guys, I've just started this blog-styled site. It's called Feat.
Basically, it's a website where a selection of the best looking themes are featured. Users can rate and give comments about the themes featured as well.
Themers would benefit from this because, when you're on Feat, it'll bring you more pageviews and hits to your outstanding themes. Our website receive around 1k-2k visitors daily, so quite a significant number of people would be able to view your works!
So, themers, if you've just finished a great-looking theme and want it to be seen, submit it to Feat, with the original links as well as details of your work.
Before I forget the url...

devnull 08-05-2006, 08:02 PM I see you have a forum and download gallery in connection with that site. I'm assuming you have obtained permission from the original authors to host the themes there, right?
http://forums.akaginet.com/local_links.php?catid=17&linkid=418 (this one is originally by G)
http://forums.akaginet.com/local_links.php?catid=5&linkid=39 (this one is by G, too)
http://forums.akaginet.com/local_links.php?catid=17&linkid=420 (this one is by Pat)
Because to me there seems to be some leechers there. Are you one of them?
kjherstin 08-05-2006, 08:38 PM Kei I am happy you like my theme and all but I would much prefer it you not put it on your site. I see you put our names to the themes and the link to it but you didn't ask for permission to do so.
Deviantart and eSeth are enough for me thank you.

these are the themes that are owned by G and Pat? once this is confirmed, i will remove these themes immediately from the website.
kjherstin, but i didn't put it on the site.. i didn't host it or something. just featuring it and linking it back to your original works to direct more hits to it. i was thinking if i'm neither reproducing nor distributing it, there wasn't any permission issue. well, if u insist, i'll take note of it and not put up the links to your themes :)
gseth 08-06-2006, 06:28 AM @ kei,
For confirmation about my themes, you can look at eseth main pages.
http://eseth.net/k750/download
You will find the themes were taken from there.
However i do not have a problem you featuring any theme and back linking.
kjherstin 08-07-2006, 09:43 AM Still I think we should have been notified first out of simple courtesy
Patrick 08-08-2006, 05:30 PM An ask for permıssıon would be nice next time. We themers are hard on this, since our themes are leeched heavily.
You can have my permission to show my themes, i am not so hard on this since you are on eseth and give us your work too.
The Man U is mine indeed, a link to eseth would be nice.
Thanks for this new site Kei, the idea is nice!
gseth, pat, removed the ripped themes cheers
kjherstin, well, i still can't figure what's with the permission issue since there shdnt be any in the first place. in any case, i'll take note of your decision :)
its just a simple courtesy as K have said.
kjherstin 08-09-2006, 12:22 PM :confused:Which part don't you understand? The simple courtesy or the respect?
I could PM you my reply but I want to make this clear to all once and for all.
You mean no harm in doing what you did in your point of view but as soon as you use someone elses work to show on your site with a link to ours does not mean that it is right. There are two major things you have to remember in this life be it on or off the internet and that is:
1. Respect (http://encarta.msn.com/dictionary_/respect.html)
2. Courtesy (http://encarta.msn.com/dictionary_/courtesy.html)
Why not be polite and ask before you want someting with please and thank you to express gratitude? It's the basics you should learn in social conducts. Don't they teach that stuff any more?
well K,
Respect is what i give for works/themes that i feel is well-done and deserve more attention than it's receiving. Which is the main reason why Feat is conceived. To give more hits to works that i feel is underrated imo.
Courtesy - i didn't see an issue of courtesy here for this case. I'll raise another example. Let's say if someone on another forum ask me where can they find quality SE themes on the web. If i reply saying "http://www.eseth.net". Should i ask Seth's permission before i do that?
i rest my case, before this topic stoop to an arguement-level of discussion. i'll just wanna say thanks for everyone who visited Feat and thank you very much to anyone who submit your work on Feat. And for the rest, thank you for your attention as well :)
