How do I put the themes onto my phone after downloading?

Hey!

Sorry to sound like an utter technological newbie but how do I put the themes I've downloaded from this site onto my phone?

On my computer they aren't a specific file type, they just have that blank icon... (they won't open when I double click them either because they don't know what to open with)

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Thought I should also mention that I downloaded that MyPhoneExplorer program and my phone won't connect to it.. When I got my W995a it came with the Sony Ericsson PC Suite (as you'd expect) so I thought I could use that to put the downloaded theme from my computer onto my phone, but when I transfer it and go to SET the theme it doesn't recognise the file so won't open.

and if the theme file has THM password you can save it to your theme document in the phone either with pc suit or my phone explorer or simply copying .

As to your MyPhoneExplorer question, I've already answered it in the other thread you posted it in. For the future avoid multi-posting the same question.

In order to open a theme on your computer you need a program that supports the theme file-format (i.e. a theme creator program like SE's Themes Creator or Lasyk's myThemeCreator).

I've read the "How To Install Themes" thread and tried to follow it but when I right click the downloaded themes it doesn't show up with "extract files" so then I downloaded WinZip and tried then, but that just says "extract to folder" so I clicked that and now it has the WinZip icon, not the one from the thread..

Download and save the file in your desktop.

Connect phone via usb cable and select mass storage mode when ask on the phone.

When you select mass storage mode, go to your my computer you can see your phone memory and external memory (memory card, if any) drives. Browse to the theme folder and paste this theme there.

Disconnect and start phone. Go to themes and apply theme.

Thanks for your help gseth, I've tried that but it doesn't work either.. I think I'll just try making my own, I can't seem to get other's to work..

Hi folks,new to the site.i just downloaded the reader theme for my w995.it shows up on my laptop files as an sis file .i had no problem gettin it into the phone but can't get it to actually work.can anyone help?do sis files have to be inzipped for example or do i have to use the sony software to put it onto my handset.hope someone can help thanks.andy

Provide exact link of theme you downloaded.

Check the compatible models list on the right panel.

W995 does not support .sis files. So probably the theme you have downloaded is for a nokia phone.

I suggest you browse for w995 themes only for full compatibility.
